I read this article in "For Antifascist Futures", and it's probably my favorite piece from the collection. It's an exploration of what preceded McCarthyism, what happened after, and how it fits into broader trends of leftist organizing in the US. In particular, through the example of Claudia Jones, it talks about how anti-leftist actions of US law enforcement and intelligence target Black organizers in particular, and how US fascism consistently includes prejudice against racialized and minoritized groups.
