This piece has an overview of some concrete steps one can take to "rewild" the web (a la ), especially as a content creator, even more especially as a creator of text content. I really appreciate links like this (it's why I'm doing a linkblog on a really minimal site), but I find it most productive as guidance for building tools for doing this work that can work for other people. Just because I like spending my time building a linkblog with a Pelican site generator — which I'm syncing my work on between a Mac and a Windows machine with WSL installed using a private GitHub repo — doesn't mean that's a reasonable thing for a human to do, or something that I can expect from everyone whose ideas I want in my head. That's the deal with this Bellingcat survey of researcher tools — most people can't or won't compromise on utility for principle.
